Joana Branco has a Ph.D in Biomedical Science (Baylor College of Medicine – Houston, EUA; ICBAS-Universidade do Porto). She is specialized in Entrepreneurship by Porto Business School. Joana is co-founder of Gene PreDiT, a biotech company devoted to development of new therapy against obesity.

She is part of the team of Biocant Park since 2015, where her skills and expertise in entrepreneurship, incorporation of companies, technology transfer, sciencebased-business development and fundraising are relevant. Based on her experience, she is frequent speaker and mentor in programs of ideas development and entrepreneurship promotion.

Currently she is Innovation Director at Biocant Park where she is in charge of promotion of innovation in Biotechnology and internationalization of the industry.
