Antia Lamas-Linares

Antia Lamas-Linares is quantum information scientist specializing in optical implementations of quantum technologies. She received her undergraduate degree in physics from the Universidade de Santiago, and then obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Optics from Imperial College London. She obtained her doctoral degree at the University of Oxford in 2003 for experimental work in quantum optics. After a post-doctoral appointment at the University of California Santa Barbara, she started her own research group at the National University of Singapore. There she was one of the founding PIs of the Centre for Quantum Technologies where she did work in entanglement-based QKD, foundations of physics, quantum hacking and spectro-temporal properties of entanglement sources. In 2010 she started working on cryogenic detectors in the group of Sae Woo Nam at NIST and in 2015 she joined the high performance computing group at the Texas Advanced Computing Center. Since 2019 she is part of Speqtral, a company dedicated to space-based quantum communications, where she is Chief Quantum Scientist.
